Just thinking about past regular round games (ie not finals series games) and was wondering what are yours and why?
Mine are:
1. Manly -v- Roosters - Year 1997 - Played at Brookvale. Why? It was a cold and wet Friday night, Brad Fittler was carving us up all over the field and they were up 18 - 0 deep in the second half of the game, we were looking busted and tired, then all of a sudden Spud Carroll and Nik Kosef put a massive hit on Brad Fittler, he left the field dazed and confused, then the floodgates opened and we scored 34 points and left the field 34 - 24 winners! That was when I knew that I knew that I loved my team! Never say die attitude!
2. Manly -v- Melbourne - Year 2008 - Played at Brookvale. Why? Even though we did not win on the night, we got over their line more times than they did and even though those tries were disallowed, our defence was far superior than theirs. I said to everyone around me at the time, the next time we play them, we will win and win good.. Next time, we played them was in the 2008 GF!
3. Brisbane -v- Manly - Year 2011 - Played at Suncorp. Why? DCE's first game against the club that did not want him -we were down by 6 at the half-time and came out in the second half and absolutely pummelled our opposition to come home winners 34 - 10. Some freaky passes by Snake and some fantastic kicks by Foran and DCE led us to get that victory!
4. Manly -v- Melbourne - Year 2011 - Played at Brookvale. Why? The atmosphere of the crowd who were baying for Melbourne's blood as they ran out of the player's tunnel will not be a game easily forgotten. Battle of Brookie and we came home with the points too! We not only won the game but we now "own" Melbourne at Brookvale!
5. Manly -v- Warriors - Year 2012 - Played at Pattersons Stadium, Perth. Why? We looked down and out on the scoreboard down by 16 points with 12 minutes to go and to come away with a 24 - 22 win was nothing short of amazing! Even though, I wasn't at this game to watch it live, I was at the Leagues club watching it with some friends! It was a game to remember!
