Canterbury's $850,000 per season splurge on Andrew Fifita is set to pave the way for George Burgess to become the NRL's first $1 million prop.
Still only 21 years of age and with just one full NRL season for the South Sydney Rabbitohs under his belt, Burgess has been tipped to become one of the game's best frontrowers.
When his contract expires in 2016, Burgess will be the same age that Fifita is now and if his rate of improvement continues many in the game believe he will be even more valuable than the 24-year-old Cronulla Sharks prop, who will join Canterbury next season on a four-year deal worth $3.4 million.

The world has gone crazy.....if he's worth a million it will mean the likes of DCE and Fozzie will be worth two million.
God help us, it will only be clubs that have access to huge TPA's or those that operate with Brown Paper bags that will have the stars of our game
