Blake Ferguson has moved closer to a return to the game after the NRL confirmed it had held informal talks with one club over the former NSW centre’s future.
The Australian has been told the club involved was the Sydney Roosters, but that was last night denied by the club’s chief executive, Brian Canavan.
It is understood NRL chief operating officer Jim Doyle, who has tried to help Ferguson in the past, took part in the talks.
