Brenton Lawrence is a reformed Manly hater.
The Manly prop admits he thrives on the fact that everyone except Sea Eagles fans hates the Silvertails – but he admits he too used to be one of the haters. Asked if he enjoys the animosity that flows from the stands from rival fans, the former Gold Coast Titan said: "There's something weird about it, yeah. It is uplifting, it's something that you want to disprove I guess. Everyone seems to have that gripe against Manly and I think one of the best signs in the crowd is, 'Guess what Manly hates you too'. It's a bit of fun." He added when asked if he used to have the same gripe against the Sea Eagles: "Yep, it's through and through. Everyone just seems to either have that northern beaches passion or they don't."
DCE, Foran and Glenn Stewart sit out Manly training
Manly halves Daly Cherry-Evans and Kieran Foran sat out training on Tuesday morning but the word is they'll both be certain starters against Parramatta at Brookvale Oval on Sunday. "They'll be fine, it was just a bit of a quieter session where we were throwing the ball around and we've just got to wrap those boys up in cotton wool. They made a few tackles on the weekend so we'll make sure they're all right for next weekend," prop Brenton Lawrence said. The Stewart brothers also took no part in the session in hot conditions at the club's Narrabeen training base. Glenn, who was a late scratching against the Bunnies with a groin injury, is expected to run later in the week and is a chance to play against the Eels, while Brett is at least another week away with a hamstring injury suffered in Round 1.
